Tribal Woman: Portrait, 9"x12" Limited edition of 50, Archival Pigment Print (Saheli)

Tribal Woman: Portrait, 9"x12" Limited edition of 50, Archival Pigment Print (Saheli)

$ 150.00

From the series: "I wish I were a Tribal Woman", (fictitious portraits of the collective beauty of women from the tribes of India)'

Saheli is 28 years old and from the Bishnoi tribe of the western Thar desert. The Bishnoi are known for being the original 'tree huggers'. Almost 300 years ago, Saheli's ancestors led a protest against the chopping down of scores of trees in the forests, by hugging and holding onto them tightly and for dear life (literally!). Sadly this selfless act did not end well. On a happier note, thanks to her heritage, Saheli is one of the foremost conservationists in the region and spends her days educating others on the importance of preserving the earth's natural resources. On a frivolous note, I want her nosering. No, wait, her entire outfit please.

9" x 12" fine art archival pigment print on Epson cold press, bright white, 310 gsm cotton rag paper. (Printed by the same print studio that works with Kehinde Wiley - WHOA!)

1st photograph shows it in a frame for your reference only. The print ships unframed.

Watercolors, gouache, acrylic, calligraphy inks.

Limited edition of 50 only.
